Yes, and it's the cheapest option if the units are in good shape. The carpenter removes the old worktop and measures a new one, while a tiler does the wall in parallel. The whole job takes two to four days. Just make sure the new worktop has the same sink and stove cutouts.
How long does a flat-pack kitchen install take?
Cabinet installation alone usually takes one to two days for an average kitchen. Add another day for water, electric and appliance hookup. If the showroom offers installation in the price, check whether appliance connection is included — often it isn't, and you'll need a separate plumber.
Does the tradesman bring the tile saw and grout tools?
A serious tiler always shows up with their own gear — wet saw, mixer for adhesive, levellers and grout tools. If someone asks you to provide a saw, that's a sign they're not professional. You provide power, water for cleaning tools, and space to set up.
What about removing old units and debris?
Agree this upfront because it's often forgotten. Some carpenters include disposal in the price, others charge an extra 25-75 € depending on volume. Old units can often be sold or given away on classifieds before demolition. Tile rubble must go to a proper landfill, not regular trash.
Can I pick appliances myself or must I go through the carpenter?
